Privacy

This page explains the data flows used by ScapeBench today.

Saved settings stay in your browser

The calculator stores plans, preferences, custom presets, watchlists, alert settings and your theme in local browser storage. These saves do not create a ScapeBench account or automatically synchronize to another device.

You can remove saved data by clearing ScapeBench's site storage in your browser. This also removes your saved plans and settings. Downloaded backups, exports and copies you shared must be managed separately.

Shared links and exports

Shared plan links encode the plan after the # in the URL. That fragment is not part of the browser's HTTP request to the hosting server, but anyone who has the link can read the plan. Shared filter links can include calculator settings in the query string, which does reach the hosting service.

Copy and download actions create the link, text or file you requested. Treat those copies as shared information when you send them to someone else. Do not put sensitive information into plan names, shared settings or campaign tags.

Public player lookups

When you request a player lookup, the OSRS username is sent to ScapeBench's server in the request URL. The server requests public stats from official Jagex hiscores, with Wise Old Man as a fallback. Successful public profiles are cached for five minutes.

The lookup does not request your RuneScape password or sign in to your game account. You can instead enter combat stats manually without requesting a public lookup.

Hosting and traffic analytics

ScapeBench is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Analytics can include page paths, referrers, approximate location and device or browser information. Vercel describes request-derived visitor hashes and visitor sessions that are discarded after 24 hours, without third-party analytics cookies.

Before sending the analytics URL, ScapeBench removes its fragment and query fields other than supported UTM campaign tags. This keeps ordinary calculator and player query values out of that analytics URL. Campaign-tag values remain, so do not include personal information in them. This filtering does not remove values from the original HTTP request to the hosting service.

Hosting also processes requests and operational logs to deliver and maintain the site. Provider and project settings determine their retention; this page does not promise a fixed deletion period. Read Vercel's analytics privacy details and Vercel's privacy policy.

Price data and item images

The server requests market data from OSRS Wiki. Your browser also requests item images from OSRS Wiki, so that service receives the network information needed to deliver them, such as an IP address. External links take you to services with their own policies.

Feedback and contact

Submitting feedback sends your selected category, message and current page path to ScapeBench. Accepted notes are retained in private hosting function logs. If a Discord notification webhook is configured, the same note is also sent to that private notification channel.

The form does not request a login, email address or player name, and it cannot provide a direct reply without a contact address. Include only information you want the site operator and those service providers to receive. Do not send passwords, payment information or other sensitive details.

For a privacy question or concern, use the Feedback button and select Something else. See About ScapeBench for tool and source information.

Advertising

ScapeBench does not currently serve third-party advertisements. If advertising is enabled, this page will be updated to describe the actual providers, advertising data use and available choices.
