About ScapeBench
An independent OSRS workbench for checking High Alchemy margins before you buy.
Updated October 10, 2026
Start with a buying decision
ScapeBench brings buy-price estimates, High Alchemy values, nature-rune costs, trade age, volume and GE limits into one calculator. You can check your own offer, build a plan around your cash and keep watchlists in your browser.
A margin is only useful if you understand the quote behind it. Recent trades can be old or sparse; an average can conceal a price change. The calculator keeps those differences visible so you can decide whether to check the market again.
Where the prices come from
Item information and market prices come from the OSRS Wiki real-time prices service. Most Recent uses its latest reported low price as the expected buy price. Stable Pricing uses its five-minute average low price. Neither mode represents a guaranteed offer available to you.
The calculator checks recent pricing every 60 seconds. A refresh within that window uses the server cache. Trade timestamps describe the reported trades; they do not become fresh just because you refreshed the page. Missing prices, limits and source failures remain unavailable rather than being invented.
How the margin is calculated
Profit per item is its High Alchemy value minus the buy price and one nature rune. ROI divides that profit by the buy price plus the nature-rune cost. The calculation assumes a fire staff supplies the required fire runes.
For an illustrative item with a 1,000 GP alch value, an 800 GP buy price and a 100 GP nature rune, the margin is 100 GP and ROI is about 11.1%. Those are example inputs, not a current market quote. Using fire runes or other expenses lowers your actual return.
Profit multiplied by a GE buying limit is a potential batch margin. It does not establish how many items will sell to you, how quickly they will fill or whether the price will hold. Use an offer check and a cash budget before treating a displayed batch as a plan.
Read the High Alchemy guide and the worked F2P session guide for practical examples.
Independent tools and public sources
ScapeBench is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex. Old School RuneScape and its related game assets belong to their respective owners. Item imagery is sourced from OSRS Wiki.
Player tools use public official hiscores with Wise Old Man as a fallback. No RuneScape login is required. These tools provide game estimates; they do not buy items, cast spells or control a game account.
